Debalina Ghosh is a Dietitian, and a Certified Diabetic Educator. She has pursued Masters in Food and Nutrition from J. D Birla Institute, affiliated to Jadavpur University, Kolkata, with a PG Certificate in Diabetes Education, recognized by International Diabetes Federation. She started her career in Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, Hyderabad and later on shifted to Apollo Life Center, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. There she was a part of Cardiac rehabilitation program team. In Apollo, together with the clinical patients and people coming for weight changes, she also got the opportunity to work with athletes, especially during post injury which happen to be most critical times in their career.
While working at Apollo, she got an opportunity to appear in a health series at NDTV Good Times called “Get Fit with Rocky and Mayur”, wherein she helped the anchors to go through a wellness journey. She also used to write articles on nutrition and diet for B Positive – the house magazine of Apollo Life Center. While counseling the athletes in Apollo she developed keen interest towards sports Nutrition and in the process she learned more about the subjects like effect of food in sports performance, recovery, stamina and injury prevention.
Since last 5 years she has been practicing sports Nutrition together with Clinical and Fitness Nutrition and she has been working with a wide variety of sports persons like Cricketers, Footballers, Tennis Players, Table Tennis Players, Badminton Players, Runners, Archers, Swimmers, Shooters, Basket Ball payers to name a few. Her clientele varies from amateur players, to National, International, Commonwealth Games, Asiad and Olympic Level athletes. Nutrition goes hand in hand with the sports training to enhance the performance and hence she as a nutrition expert works in tandem with the coaches.
Being from clinical Nutrition Background in her initial days of career, she takes care of clients having various clinical issues like diabetes, PCOD, Thyroid, Heart Disease, IBS etc. She is also a holistic Nutrition Expert who believes that weight is a side effect of Nutrition status and deranged blood parameters in our body. If these two parameters together with hydration status are corrected then weight is just a number which can be increased or decreased with a slight tweak in lifestyle.
